Old Age

 Another major turning point in my aging make-ups.
This portfolio piece consisted of a single gel filled appliance. Using epoxy laminated molds, a “skin layer” was then stippled on to both the positive and negative. The silicone gel was pre-colored using liquid pigments and flocking before being poured in. Once cast up, additional layers of color were carefully built up. The eyebrows were then punched in. Applying this make-up also included using latex stretch & stipple under the eyes, on the eyelids and on the lips. The wig and reading glasses completed the look. Because of the advances in silicone, this prosthetic mask was able to move quite naturally with the model’s face.
